Wild Coast Experience Tour 4-7 June
Group from USA
Group from USA
Wild Coast Experience Tour 4-7 June 2007 was a great success. We picked up 14 guests from USA in Port Elizabeth & travelled to Mazeppa Bay on the Wild Coast. We arrived at 1pm & were welcomed by a group of Xhosa woman singing & dancing to the beat of their drums.....this was to be a culltural tour ....bare souls foreign eyes!! We woke early & hiked along the hills with panoramic views of this unspoilt coastline with a group of oxen deployed to assist with the luggage. What a sight to see the group hiking the remote beaches with the oxen alongside. Then we turned off the beaches into the hills to the home kraal of Evelina where we were once again greeted by Xhosa woman in traditional dresses to more singing & dancing. We enjoyed an amazing cultural experience which included a stick fight demo, amaqueta tradition, xhosa food & their lovely beadwork before the return hike back to Mazeppa Bay Beach House, our wonderful base camp. After dinner we all enjoyed story telling around a bonfire on the beach! Two more days of beach hiking & forest hiking to the secret waterfall! So different & far from the rest of the world......unspoilt....please keep it this way forever!
