Welcome to Mazeppa Bay, situated on the Wild Coast of South Africa, which is between Durban & East London on the eastern coastline. This is where I wish to share my "wild coast experiences" with travellers of the world. The suspended bridge on the main beach has been a landmark for many years & is used to cross the channel to the small rocky island. One can often spot whales & dolphins from this island as well as sharks on occasion. Of course the fishing is great & nothing better than freshly grilled fish for breakfast at Mazeppa Bay Beach House, which is our base camp for our "Wild Coast Experience" Tours which I conduct departing from Port Elizabeth or East London. The package includes transport, accomodation, meals, hikes & guided tours over 3 nights / 4 days for group sizes of 12-15 people. Contact me for further details................take a walk on the wild side!

The Xhosa woman of the Wild Coast region of South Africa still practice their old traditions & are wonderful home makers. Many woman spend months alone raising their children as the men go to the cities in search of employment to send much needed money back home. They walk long distances along the remote beaches seeking muscles, rock bait & oysters along the rugged coastline & still find time to make their craft beadwork to sell to the occasional tourist. We visit the home of Evelina, a Xhosa woman born on the wild coast, who welcomes you to her village with song & dance sharing the traditions.....this is a 2 hour beach hike & then into the hills to reach her mud & thatched roof home!

The rural Xhosa people of this Wild Coast region of South Africa still practice their age old traditions & are desperately holding on to their culture which due to the remoteness of the area has been largely unspoilt by the changes in the world. They welcome you in song & dance to their village on the hills & can be seen from far with their bright orange traditional garments. The Xhosa people have survived here for hundreds of years living off the land & sea, peacefully.....this is Africa home! The Wild Coast is situated on the east coast of South Africa.

Mazeppa Bay Beach House is our base camp with amazing views of the Indian Oceon & situated on the main beach with a private walkway through the wild palms onto the beach. The house is fully equipped & our caterer chef will attend to your meals while on our Wild Coast Experience Tour. We cater for groups of 15 visitors which suits the luxury sprinter bus & accomodation we provide. The German & British settlers arrived in this area in 1890 opening trading posts in remote areas to trade with the Xhosa people. Once established they started travelling to the nearby Wild Coast by wagon & built camps to enjoy the holidays.

My name is Alan Sparg & I wish to invite the people of the world to visit the Wild Coast of South Africa & share my wild coast experiences with me. I grew up on this beautiful unspoilt & largely undiscovered coastline as did my forefathers & my children. The Wild Coast is situated on the east coast of South Africa. This is home to the rural Xhosa people far from the big cities & therefore unspoilt & where daily Xhosa traditions & culture are unaffected by the changes in the world. I am now sharing these experiences & offer tour packages out of Port Elizabeth or East London ( nearest airport ) for 3 nights / 4 days all inclusive of transport, accomodation & guided tours. The Wild Coast Experience is about getting away from crowds, hiking the miles of unspoilt beaches, meeting the Xhosa people, amazing sunsets & bonfires on the beach at night under the African skies.
